Welcome to the web site for the Shorthand Reporters Association of
Australia. We hope this site will be of special interest to reporters,
student reporters and those interested in a career as a shorthand
reporter; and to those interested in the services a shorthand reporter
can offer.
Shorthand reporters are an integral part of the court and parliamentary
systems in Australia. They also provide a valuable service to the
hearing impaired via the stenocaptioning of television news and current
affairs. Reporters are engaged at the cutting edge of technology,
in a challenging and rewarding work environment, and their skills
and services are highly valued by their clients.
We welcome your feedback on our web site.
We hope this site will provide you with all the information you need
about reporting. Should you require further information, please contact
